Grace slipped into my heart
and quietly swept away the
strands of despair
brooding in the dark corners
she found there.
She tidied up the disarray
from too many moments of
discouragement,
discarded useless doubts,
brushed away timeworn regrets,
replaced flat shadows with
arrangements of gently flowing light,
and shaped unyielding… edges into
welcoming softness.
And when,
with wise eyes,
she looked upon all she had done
she clasped her sweet hands together
in pure delight.
And then, throwing open the door,
she ushered in her best friend,
Hope.
