A significant initiative during this month is the “Wave of Light” event held on October 15th. At 7:00 PM local time, people around the world are encouraged to light a candle in remembrance of lives lost too soon. This symbolic gesture creates a continuous wave of light across time zones, fostering a sense of global solidarity and support for bereaved families. The event not only honors precious memories but also raises awareness about the support needed for those enduring such profound loss.

My absolute favourite and most used way of working with clients however is using a body first approach: using somatic approaches, such as through somatic experience and with the use of the understanding of the nervous system through Polyvagal-informed therapeutic approaches.
Additionally, mindfulness-based therapies can assist individuals in staying present, reducing anxiety and depression linked to grieving. Each therapeutic approach offers unique benefits, and selecting the right one depends on personal preferences and specific needs. By exploring these options, individuals can engage in a tailored healing process, gradually transforming their grief into a source of personal growth and resilience.
